This year the Deutsches Atomforum e.V. has given the Karl-Winnacker award - which was already given 25 times before - the journalist Carl Graf Hohenthal.
The award is named after the founder and president of the German Atom Forum of many years` standing. The award is given to persons who rendered outstanding services regarding the public understanding of peaceful use of nuclear energy.
Carl Graf Hohental is an economic correspondent of the "Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung" in Berlin. The award which was given today on the occasion of the 2000 ANNUAL NUCLEAR TECHNOLOGY CONFERENCE in Bonn appreciates Hohenthal`s always balanced and sound reports on nuclear energy and his trenchant comments to energy-political issues.
Following his studies of economics and history he began his career as a journalist with the weekly newspaper "Die Zeit". Almost 16 years ago Hohental then changed to the "Frankfurter Allgemeinen Zeitung" and reported as a correspondent from Bonn. In addition to economic policy he dealt with competition issues, environmental policy and energy policy. Since 1st August 1999 he has been reporting from Berlin.
