Last year, the German Atomic Forum organised for the first time a colloquium under the motto "Career Prospects in Nuclear Engineering" to offer young people the opportunity of finding a job in the nuclear industry. The positive response has prompted the German Atomic Forum to stage further events of this kind this year as well. They will take place in Osnabrück from 18 to 20 February 2003 and in Regensburg from 24 to 26 February 2003. The aim is to win students for courses in the field of nuclear engineering or in related disciplines. Their future job prospects both in Germany and abroad are considered good. The Nuclear Engineering Competence Centre - a network of the large research establishments and universities - assumes that in Germany alone the number of job vacancies in nuclear engineering will rise to a four-digit figure in the coming years.
The events will be rounded off by a joint visit to a nuclear power plant and a daily programme of attractive social events. Registrations can be sent to Deutsches Atomforum e. V., Tulpenfeld 10, 53113 Bonn, Germany,
phone: +49 22 85 07-0 or can be made on the internet: www.kernenergie.de, Latest News.
