As in the previous year, German nuclear power plants achieved six of the world´s ten best production results in 2010. German plants have been occupying the top spots in electricity production for decades thus providing an impressive demonstration of their efficiency, availability and reliability.
The Isar 2 nuclear power plant with an annual electricity production of 12.01 billion kWh again took second place as it did in the two previous years. The Brokdorf nuclear power plant also maintained its position in third place with an output of 11.94 billion kWh. The other German plants that made the global top ten are Philippsburg 2 (5th place), Emsland (7th place), Grohnde (8th place) and Unterweser (9th place).
